It’s time for change.
The Retention Project
The Retention Project seeks to increase the number of female Chief Investment Officers in the alternative investment industry by influencing workplace culture and perception. The goal of The Retention Project is to retain and support women in investment roles as they go through their childbearing and childrearing years.
We believe that one of the key reasons there is a dearth of female fund managers is that their careers are likely to be disrupted or derailed during this period, due to the lack of supportive infrastructure in the workplace. During this time, women often pause their careers or take lesser roles to be the chief caregiver and CEO of the household. Their career progression is stunted, or we lose them altogether.
We believe the entire investment ecosystem – executives, managers and LPs – benefits when female investment talent across the organization is retained and recognized.
The work we are doing isn’t just for investment professionals. It will benefit all women within the investment organization, from the front office to the back office.
